Michael has recently joined The Video Project/Specialty Studios as their Director of Director of Acquisitions and Sales. The San Francisco based company has been a leader in distributing socially conscious films for 30 years. They are a full service distributor and focus on developing funded campaigns for the expanded outreach and engagement for cause-based films. They specialize on films about the environment, civil rights, education, politics, animal rights and nuclear issues and are expanding into the food issue and personal and public health areas.

Michael is an award-winning documentary filmmaker. His first documentary, SAVE THE FARM, was about activists’ 11th hour attempt to save the South Central Farm in Los Angeles, the largest urban farm in America. The film has won numerous awards, including the audience award at the 2011 Awareness Film Festival, and is available on Netflix. He also produced the soon to be released ROCK THE BOAT.  Directed by Thea Mercouffer, it’s a documentary about one man’s quest to kayak down the LA River in order to save it’s Clean Water Act Protection. 


Along with Abby Wills, he is the Co-Founder and Executive Producer of SHANTI GENERATION, a groundbreaking collection of yoga DVD’s for teens, available on all the major e-commerce sites and amazon.
