With a knack for shepherding a project successfully from idea to screen, her passion is producing great stories which entertain, inspire and ultimately transform people’s lives.Award-winning producer, Kia Kiso, was 12 years old when her love affair with filmmaking began. Even at such a young age she was keenly aware of media’s possibilities to have a positive impact on a large scale and she wanted to be part of the action. She earned a B.A. in Moving Image Arts with an emphasis on Cinematography from the College of Santa Fe. Her career trajectory has built a solid foundation. Believing it is best to be well-rounded, her unique combination of skills have allowed her producing work to be extremely successful. She began as a union Camera Assistant, worked as a Telecine Colorist in the post production world, was a Coordinator for commercials and music videos and as part of the Visual Effects Production team on a major studio motion picture for the same VFX company that did “Life of Pi.” She has over 80 credits on television shows, major feature films, documentaries, commercials, network promos and music videos. Projects she has produced range from award-winning music videos, social issue documentaries, network promos for hit CBS shows to television pilots. This summer, she currently her documentary, “Mile… Mile & A Half”, is selling out where ever it screens and will be available on TVOD platforms October 1st. She is in various stages of development some feature films and a mega-mini-series aimed for the History Channel.Her producing awards include 2008 Elevate Film Festival’s Best Music Video for Keb’ Mo’s “America the Beautiful”, 2010 BlastwaveFX competition 2nd Place for short film “Trigger Happy”, and Dances with Films Festival Audience Award for Best Feature Documentary for “Mile… Mile & A Half.”Member of Producers Guild of America (PGA), Diversity in Producing CommitteeMember of Los Angeles City College Film/TV Department Advisory BoardMedia Access Awards Committee
