On September 10th 2001, Kit O’Sullivan finds the courage to write a letter to her husband Bobby, telling him she is filing for divorce.  Her husband Bobby , a firefighter, dies in the towers the next day.  The events of September 11th, 2001 leave her ridden with feelings of sadness, grief and guilt.   Soon after Bobby’s Memorial Service, Kit quietly leaves the city with no forwarding address trying to pick up the pieces and move on. John Brooks, the Battalion Chief of Engine Company 286, lost 5 of his men on September 11, 2001 – and one of them was Bobby, who had won the medal of honor for rescuing a 7 year old boy a few years before..  Savage Hero takes place 2+ years after the events of September 11, 2001. The film begins with John knocking on Kit’s door to find out why she would ever divorce a Bobby, who was a well respected man and a hero. Kit reluctantly reveals the truth and it is something John cannot accept. The scab is ripped off her wound, and Kit’s world once again, is turned upside down.
